FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Below is a list of most frequently asked questions. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to answer your questions.
Most of our clients have never had their property professionally cleaned. Therefore they have numerous questions regarding our procedures and the outcome of the cleaning process. We are able to answer any of your questions at any time.
ARE THE CLEANERS YOU’RE USING SAFE?
Yes, the safety of your family, pets, and landscaping, as well as our employees are our main concern. We have never damaged a plant or had one to die and have never had an employee or customer injury. We pride ourselves on our safety record. We do not cover your bushes or grass with plastic to protect them from our cleaners, because all of our cleaners are 100% environmentally safe and totally bio-degradable.
WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
We use the latest in hot water detergent injected pressure washers, which are mounted inside our vehicles. We use custom-made extension wands and concrete machines. We will clean your house from the ground without banging ladders against it. We gently and professionally clean your siding with the correct combination of heat, detergent, and pressure to achieve beautiful results.
WHAT TYPE OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
In order to eliminate any questions regarding results we inform all of our customers of any unusual conditions at the time of the estimate. Generally the following conditions can occur at any job: Loose paint and caulking may come off, good paint will not. Windows may spot lightly but no more than what rain water would do. Black streaks found under eaves and aluminum gutters will usually come clean. These streaks are caused by the constant moisture of rain water passing under them, but can deposit a permanent stain.
Small black spots on siding are called Shotgun Fungus or Artillery Fungus while the spotting is worse near mulch. Some spots can be found up to fifteen (15) to twenty (20) feet away from it. The fungus develops in organic mulches in a type of “mushroom” in a small cup containing a round mass of spores. The mass points itself toward strong light sources such as sun reflecting glass and light colored buildings. As the body matures, it opens like a flower, revealing the mass of spores in the middle. After opening, the inner cup inverts and violently ejects the spore mass, with a 1/10,000 horsepower force. The spore masses, which are sometimes mistaken for insect droppings, adhere to any surface they contact. Powerwashing the surface will not remove shotgun fungus as they normally cannot be removed without damaging or staining the surface. Abrasion is about the only method that works; however you run the risk of surface damage. This is why we avoid or discourage using abrasion as a method of removal.
To determine if small dot like discolorations are in fact shotgun fungi perform the following simple test. Take your fingernail and scrape the surface of a few dots. If the dark colored top is removed showing a reddish or lighter color, it is shotgun fungus.
All mildew, surface dirt, and carbonous pollutants will be removed making your property look its best.
